Brick Outdoor Kitchen Under a Covered Patio, Regal Hill Ct, Montgomery TX
Todd’s back patio in Montgomery already had a roof and lattice sides. What it needed was a place to cook. Kitchen Remodel Masters Houston built an L-shaped island in red brick to match the house, set black granite countertops on it, and built in a stainless gas grill, double stainless doors and a kamado cooker.

What we built
- Brick island. Concrete block core with a red brick face to match the home, built on the existing slab with openings framed for the grill and doors. See custom grill islands.
- Black granite counters. Templated after the brick cured and set by Eduardo’s team. Granite handles heat from the grill and the Montgomery sun. More on granite countertops.
- Appliances. Stainless built-in gas grill, double access doors with storage, and a black kamado cooker at the end of the run.
- Lighting. String lights under the existing cover for cooking after dark.
We built the walk-in shower in the same home. For your own patio, start with the outdoor kitchen page and the Houston outdoor kitchen cost guide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why red brick instead of a finished island?
The house is red brick, so the island was built in matching brick and left natural. It ties the outdoor kitchen to the home and needs no paint or stucco upkeep.
What is built in?
A stainless built-in gas grill, double stainless access doors with storage underneath, a black kamado cooker at the end of the counter, and black granite countertops on an L-shaped base.
Did the patio need a new cover?
No. The existing covered patio with lattice sides stayed. The island was built on the slab under it, which keeps the grill and the granite out of direct sun and rain.
What does an outdoor kitchen like this cost?
We do not publish fixed prices, because the grill, the counter length and the stone drive most of the number. Our Houston outdoor kitchen cost guide lists market ranges, and Sean gives you an exact proposal after the free consultation.
