Kitchen Remodel Masters Houston is a veteran family-owned kitchen remodeler at 1923 Washington Ave, about 15 minutes from our Washington Avenue office from the Museum District. We design the kitchen in 3D for free, build the cabinets and fabricate the countertops in our own shop, and run the job with a project manager who sends you a photo update every day. Most full kitchens take two to four weeks of construction.

Kitchens in the Museum District

The Museum District and the neighborhoods around Hermann Park are a mix of 1920s to 40s brick and stucco homes in Boulevard Oaks, Binz and Riverside Terrace, the large mid-century homes of MacGregor along Brays Bayou, new townhomes toward the Third Ward, and the mid-rise and high-rise condos that serve the Medical Center. The old kitchens were built for staff and sit at the back of the house behind a pantry. The condo kitchens are compact and ruled by the building. Both want the same thing: an open kitchen with real storage.

The projects we do most often in the Museum District:

  • Opening a 1930s kitchen to the dining room and the back garden while keeping the home’s original trim and proportions.
  • Condo kitchens near the Medical Center: custom cabinets to the ceiling, quartz or porcelain counters, panel-ready appliances, building approvals handled.
  • Replacing developer cabinets and counters in a new townhome.
  • Full custom kitchens in Riverside Terrace and MacGregor homes with islands and sculleries.

Permits in the Museum District

The Museum District, Riverside Terrace and MacGregor are City of Houston permitting. Kitchen projects that move plumbing, gas or electrical, or remove a wall, need a City of Houston permit, which we pull and schedule inspections for. Cabinet refinishing and countertop replacement do not need one. Boulevard Oaks and Audubon Place are historic districts, which review exterior changes only. Condo buildings add their own approval and insurance paperwork, which we provide. Read our Houston kitchen permits guide for fees and timelines.
