Kitchen Remodel Masters Houston is a veteran family-owned kitchen remodeler at 1923 Washington Ave, about 15 minutes north of our Washington Avenue office from Oak Forest and Garden Oaks. We design the kitchen in 3D for free, build the cabinets and fabricate the countertops in our own shop, and run the job with a project manager who sends you a photo update every day. Most full kitchens take two to four weeks of construction.
Kitchens in Oak Forest and Garden Oaks
Oak Forest and Garden Oaks are 1940s and 50s ranch homes on wide lots, with Garden Oaks’ deed-restricted blocks of larger lots and Oak Forest’s long rows of three-bedroom ranches north of W 43rd Street. The original kitchens are small, closed off from the den by a wall, with 8-foot ceilings and a window over the sink. The new two-story builds replacing them have open kitchens with builder finishes. Permits in Oak Forest and Garden Oaks
Oak Forest, Garden Oaks and Shepherd Park Plaza are City of Houston permitting. Kitchen projects that move plumbing, gas or electrical, or remove a wall, need a City of Houston permit, which we pull and schedule inspections for. Can you open my Oak Forest ranch kitchen to the den?
Yes. That wall usually carries roof load, so it is replaced with a beam on an engineer's letter and a City of Houston permit. The Verdome Lane project on this page is exactly that, with a long island facing the living room.

Yes. The W 42nd Street project on this page is a covered outdoor kitchen with a built-in grill, kamado and cedar TV wall a few blocks off N Shepherd.
How long does a kitchen take?
One to two weeks for cabinet painting plus counters, two to four weeks of construction for a full remodel with a wall removal.
